Good afternoon, ladies.
Most of you have probably guessed why normal lectures have been suspended and this special assembly has been called.
This is Eve Devane, and for those who don't know, a very regrettable and easily avoidable mistake made by her whilst editing the student magazine, The Bottom Line, has brought scandal to the good name of Blackwoods Academy.
Ms Devane was sentenced to receive 24 strokes of the cane across her bare behind to be carried out during a standard assembly.
However, she is requested to be subjected today to the full measure, the most lengthy, severe and humiliating punishment permitted under the Blackwoods statutes.
So that your schedule is not interrupted any more than is necessary, we will begin straight away.
Nurse Fairbairn will be assessing Ms Devane's fitness to be beaten at various stages and will inflict some of the punishment and accompanying degradations herself.
Penny McCarthy, a co-worker on The Bottom Line, who Ms Devane assures us has nothing to do with the scandal, will be filming the event.
She has also convinced us that publication of the recording on The Bottom Line blog, as well as part of the Jester Ticket Project, will show the world how seriously Blackwoods is taking this affair.
